Welcome! I'm Erica MacDonald, a Southern Contemporary Impressionist painter working out of my home studio in Tennessee.

My work is driven by texture, color, and contrast. It explores nature and a lifelong fascination with quilting, textiles, and patterns. My style is influenced by the natural beauty of my home state and the vibrant creative cultures of Louisiana and Texas.

Creating Calm

Ultimately, the goal of my art is to capture the calming energy of nature. By bringing the outside in, you can experience the peace and tranquility of nature in your home.

My creative process often starts with my camera, exploring the natural landscape to capture reference photos. Back in the studio, I use mediums like watercolor, gouache, and acrylics for my landscape paintings and some of my pattern motifs. Other designs are hand-drawn digitally.
